Electronic Circuit

Do you experience static noise where you plug your cable into your electric guitar's phono jack?

How about when you adjust your volume or tone knob?

You may need replace your phono jack or potentiometers.

Also we could change the value of your tone potentiometer's capacitors  to eliminate unwanted extra treble or bass.

Circuit modification is also available.
I also offer cable repair.

Fret Work

Do you have a buzz or rattle on a certain string at a certain fret?

If so, maybe we could just raise the action or you might need to have a fret partially filed down.

I can also level all your frets for lowest possible action.

Here in Arizona, the neck's wood shrinks a bit due to dryness, leaving the fret ends sticking out. This is known as fret sprout. The protruding fret ends can become very sharp and uncomfortable and can shred your hand's skin.I can file them down, sand and steel wool them so that the neck becomes smooth and comfortably playable again.

Neck Truss Rod

If your strings buzz or rattle on the first few frets or if your action is too high, your truss rod may need to be adjusted. Arizona's dry  climate causes the neck's wood to  shrink ,leaving the truss rod loose ,creating an upbow. This causes high action at the 7th fret area.

I can adjust the neck truss rod properly.

This is included in all set-ups.

Bridges, Necks, Cracks & Seams Re-glued

Arizona is very dry. Glue tends to dry up and disintegrate.  I use fresh Titebond Wood Glue and my various clamps to restore your guitar.I can also use fresh Titebond hide glue upon request.

I use Nitrocellulose Lacquer to touch up the finish.

Set-Up

Sedona Guitar Repair is Home of The Arizona Set-Up. String height - (action),can shift up or down, due to dryness and heat. The coldness of winter can also shift the wood. This causes fret buzz and/or very high action. The Arizona Set-Up includes Truss Rod adjustment, String height set for lowest possible action and Intonation. I also clean, oil and polish your instrument and tighten all screws as needed. Tuner screws always seem to be loose due to wood shrinkage.

Tremolo Adjustment & Set-Up

Is your Tremolo misbehaving?

Your claw's springs may need to be tightened or loosened.

Setting the spring's tension just right allows for pitch-lowering AND pitch-raising abilities.

This is Full Floating Mode.

If you want your Tremolo seated or resting against the guitar's body, so that you will have a more stabilized and  sustaining tone, your claw's springs may need to be tightened.

This is Dive Only Mode.

If, for any reason, you may want to disable your Tremolo, I can securely Block your Tremolo Bridge.

This Block can be easily removed later and this modification does not alter or damage your guitar.

This is Hard Tail Mode.

Tremolo adjusted until you are satisfied.

I have experience with set-up of most types of Tremolos, both modern and vintage. I also offer Tremolo Modifications such as : Brass Tone Block, Brass Spring Claw, Noiseless Springs, Tremolo Stabilizer, Tremolo Stopper, Anti-Deflection Device, Tremolo-No (pin type) , Arming Adjuster, etc.....

Please contact me for Tremolo set-up prices.
